The story so far…

The story so far…

I’m preparing for a trip to the Australian National Maritime Museum next week, and just discovered this fantastic blog post by Penny Edwell, the Museum’s Digital Curator, which tells the story so far on the new exhibition that I hope to be composing the music for. Next week I’ll meet Hamish Palmer, the Creative Director, but this blog provided a great background to what’s an incredibly impressive-looking project in the very heart of Sydney…

The look and feel for the project is already so wonderful I feel this will inform the music/sound that I’ll compose. Another thing that is really exciting for me is that Penny describes the proposal for the experience to be “bold, unique and confronting”, which really fits with what Hamish told me via email he wants from the music. This commission has the opportunity to be really innovative, and will make a fantastic research project for my creative work at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
